Dhaka, April 27 -- New traffic signal lights are being installed at 22 intersections across Dhaka's two city corporations. Developed using local technology, the project is costing approximately Tk 180 million (Tk 18 crore). The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has designed these new traffic lights.

According to BUET experts, the installation aims to ease traffic congestion and improve road discipline. As part of a short-term initiative, the traffic lights are being set up along a specific corridor in Dhaka, covering 14 intersections under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 8 under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
