Dhaka, Sept. 7 -- Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen Soneya Murshid has called upon the media to create a place of trust for readers by ensuring the delivery of reliable, objective and truthful news. "In the practice of healthy journalism, the reader expects objectivity. Unfortunately, there is a growing trend of yellow journalism in the country," she said.

The adviser made the remarks while addressing a discussion and reception ceremony marking the fourth founding anniversary of the Daily Oishi Bangla at the BMA Auditorium in the capital on Saturday. Praising activities of the Daily Oishi Bangla, she said: "Oishi Bangla must uphold the truth and completely boycott yellow journalism."
