Dhaka, Jan. 28 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has warned that if the party becomes disconnected from the people, the outcome will be similar to that of August 5.

He made these remarks on Tuesday during a workshop in Khulna. Addressing the party's leaders and workers, The BNP acting chairman said, "I will not support or protect anyone involved in activities that undermine public trust or damage the party's reputation."

BNP's Satkhira district, Khulna district and city and Bagerhat district units arranged the programme separately on the party's 31-point state overhauling proposals.
