Dhaka, April 29 -- The dengue situation continues to be a concern in Bangladesh, with 35 new cases reported in the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The fresh infections have brought the total number of dengue cases this year to 2,524. However, no new deaths were reported during this period, keeping the nationwide death toll at 19, the DGHS said.

Breakdown of the new cases shows that eight infections were reported from Barishal Division, 11 from Chattogram Division, three from Dhaka Division (outside Dhaka City Corporation areas), two from Khulna Division, and one from Mymensingh Division.
