Dhaka, July 12 -- A total of 14,069 people have been hospitalized with dengue fever in Bangladesh so far this year, according to official figures released on Friday.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shared the data in a press statement issued by its Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room. Of the patients admitted up to 11 July, 59.1 percent were men and 40.9 percent were women.
The statement on Friday also said 12,744 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. In the past 24 hours alone, 137 new dengue cases were recorded across the country, though no new deaths occurred during this period.
