Dhaka, July 2 -- The mischief of deer poachers in the Eastern Sundarbans has not been stopped. On Monday morning, a hunter was caught by the forest guards while hunting deer by setting traps in the Sundarbans of the Kachikhali Sanctuary area. A large quantity of traps was seized. At that time, two other hunters, however, managed to escape.
According to forest department sources, forest guards led by Forester Dilip Majumdar, Smart Team Leader of the Sharankhola Forest Range of the Eastern Division of the Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district), saw three hunters waiting to set traps to catch deer in the forest of Sukhpara Canal area outside the Kachikhali Sanctuary Center on Monday morning (June 30).
