Dhaka, March 7 -- The four-day Annual Conference of the Deputy Commissioners (DC Conference) concluded on Wednesday with the thanks from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the DCs outstanding performance during the last January 7 national election and implementation of overall initiatives of the government.
At the same time, the DCs were given special power. According to the instruction of the government, DCs cannot be withdrawn without giving promotion and they will have the authority to run the administration independently without any interference from outsiders including the politicians.
