Dhaka, March 16 -- National Citizens' Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said on Saturday his party's position on reforms was highlighted in the meeting with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

"We focused on reform process and state of democracy through after August 5," he told reporters after the meeting in a city hotel.

Nahid said they informed Guterres that the foundation for fundamental reforms must be laid during this government and all political parties must come to a consensus.

"We have talked about the speedy implementation of the July Charter. Our position on constitutional reform is that the constitution must be reformed through the Constituent Assembly.
