Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- Bangladesh Coastguard members, on a tip off, launched a drive and seized a pontoon, an excavator and bulkhead while the labourers were lifting earth illegally from a remote char- named - Char Bhairobi beside the Meghna under Haimchar Upazila at around 11 pm on 11 February.
The coastguard members led by station commander Sub Lft Fazlul Huque also detained 11 labourers who were jailed for one month each by a Mobile Court led by an Executive Magistrate Mohammad Shahjahan on 12 Feb.
The pontoon, bulkhead and excavator are now under the custody of Bangladesh Coastguard, Chandpur.
