Dhaka, Nov. 12 -- One passenger was burnt to death when a gas cylinder exploded after a microbus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind in Kalihati upazila of Tangail on Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 11:30 am at Nagarbari area on the Tangail-Tarakandi road.
The identity of the deceased passenger could not be known immediately. The CNG driver, identified as Shanto, was rescued with burn injuries and admitted to Tangail General Hospital.
Local sources said the CNG, heading towards Bhuapur from Tangail, was carrying a lone passenger.
When it reached Nagarbari area, a speeding microbus hit it from behind, causing the gas cylinder to explode and the vehicle to catch fire.
