Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- An awareness campaign and rally was held in the coastal Morelganj and Sharankhola Upazilas of Bagerhat district to demand the right to safe drinking water.
On Tuesday morning, a large number of men and women, community leaders, local administration officials and representatives of various NGOs, including MorelganjUpazilaNirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Habibullah, participated in the rally from the Upazila square under the initiative of Jagrani Chakra Foundation's Srijan project.
The participants submitted a memorandum to the UpazilaNirbahi Officer, urging the government and private organizations to take joint initiatives to ensure the availability of safe water as a fundamental right of daily life.
