India, Jan. 11 -- The newly appointed US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Brent Christensen, has pledged to deepen US-Bangladesh relations by advancing President Donald Trump's foreign policy agenda, emphasising Washington's commitment to strengthened diplomatic, economic and security cooperation with Dhaka.

In a statement issued by the US Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday, Ambassador Christensen said he was delighted to return to Bangladesh and lead the embassy team in reinforcing bilateral ties. He noted that his mission would focus on enhancing relations while contributing to efforts aimed at making the United States "safer, stronger and more prosperous".
