Dhaka, Sept. 25 -- Two children went missing in the Louhajong River near Tangail town on Wednesday afternoon while fishing. One of them, Mehedi Hasan (8), was later found dead, while the other child, Adib, remains missing.

According to locals, the two friends entered the river around 1:00 PM to catch fish when they were swept away by strong currents.

Rescue teams from Tangail Fire Service arrived on the scene at around 2:00 PM and launched a search operation. At approximately 3:30 PM, they recovered Mehedi Hasan's body. Despite continued efforts until sunset, Adib could not be located.
