Dhaka, March 3 -- Despite the government's repeated assurances of market stability during Ramadan, prices of chicken, fish, and some vegetables saw an upward trend in Dhaka's kitchen markets on Monday.
Lemon and cucumber prices remained high as the previous day. Meanwhile, chicken and mutton prices edged up, though beef prices remained unchanged.
Traders at Karwan Bazar, the capital's largest vegetable hub, attribute the rising costs to higher demand during Ramadan, despite an adequate supply of most items, reports UNB.
Rahim Sarder, a vegetable wholesaler at Karwan Bazar, said lemon and cucumber prices are expected to decrease gradually as supply improves.
