Dhaka, Nov. 9 -- Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol, former General Secretary of the Bangladesh Archery Federation, has been elected President of World Archery Asia (WAA), marking a historic achievement for Bangladesh sports administration.
Chapol secured 29 votes against 9 in the presidential election against incumbent General Secretary Thomas Han. The election was held at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Saturday. Chapol will replace Chung Eui-sun, Executive Chairman and CEO of Hyundai Motor Group. Chung had been at the helm of World Archery Asia for the past two decades, since 2005.
