Dhaka, Nov. 15 -- A case has been lodged following the recovery of a dismembered body stuffed inside a drum near the National Eidgah gate, adjacent to the High Court.

Police confirmed that the remains of 42-year-old Ashraful Haque were discovered in 26 pieces on Thursday, Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Khaled Monsur said.

Ashraful's sister, Anjina Begum, filed the case at Shahbagh Police Station on Friday, naming the victim's friend, Jarez Mia, as the prime suspect, in addition to several unidentified accomplices.No arrests have been made yet. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to track down those involved, OC Monsur added.
