Dhaka, June 19 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against five individuals, including two former vice-chancellors of Begum Rokeya University (BRUR), on charges of embezzling Tk 4 crore from a university development project through fraudulent means.
Confirming the matter on Wednesday (June 18), ACC Director General Md. Akhter Hossain said that the case was lodged after a detailed investigation revealed gross irregularities in project implementation and fund disbursement.
The accused include former vice-chancellors AKM Nur-un-Nabi and Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, former executive engineer and tender evaluation committee member secretary Md. Jahangir Alam, and two contractors-A. Salam Bachchu of Md. Abdus Salam (JV) and MM ...
