Dhaka, April 26 -- BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday said that judges who contributed to establishing Sheikh Hasina's "fascist regime" in Bangladesh must be brought to trial to prevent future abuses of the judiciary.

"The judiciary is one of the key pillars that enabled the rise of fascism. Justice Khairul Haque, Justice Enayetur Rahim, Justice Asaduzzaman, and many others played roles in this process," Rizvi said while speaking at a discussion.

The event, titled '60 Lakh Accused in False Cases Under Fascism: How Far the Redress,' was organised by the Nationalist Research Foundation (NRF) at the Jatiya Press Club.
