Dhaka, Dec. 4 -- Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday commended the longstanding service of the Bangladesh Armed Forces in safeguarding national security and advancing the country's development and nation-building efforts.

Highlighting the military's consistent support to citizens during times of emergency, he urged the forces to take on a historic responsibility in the forthcoming national election and referendum scheduled for February.
