Dhaka, April 1 -- Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has emphasised the need for peace in the country, stating that a secure environment is essential for people to live and move without fear.

"Peace in Bangladesh is extremely important. We need to keep it in mind always. We want peace in the country. We want peace for the nation, and we want peace for the whole world," he said.

The chief adviser made the remarks at a function held at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) in Tejgaon on Monday, where he exchanged Eid greetings with dignitaries.

Advisers, the chiefs of the three services, political leaders, diplomats, members of the National Consensus Commission, civil society members, and journalists were present.
