Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus has distributed Ekushey Padak 2025, the second highest civilian award of the country, to 17 dignitaries and women's football team.
The award handing ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Thursday.
This year, five people received the Ekushey Padak in the arts, one in journalism, one in journalism and human rights, one in culture and education, one in education, four in science and technology, one in social service, two in language and literature, one in research, and the national women's football team in sports.
Filmmaker Azizur Rahman, famed for his work on 'Chhutir Ghonta,' was conferred the award posthumously for his contributions to Arts (Cinema).
