Dhaka, Sept. 3 -- Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has instructed the Ministry of Health to make urgent arrangements to send Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur abroad for advanced medical treatment.
Nur was critically injured on 29 August when police baton-charged during clashes between activists of his party and the Jatiyo Party in Dhaka's Kakrail area.
"We are deeply shocked by this incident. The government has ensured his proper treatment, and a judicial inquiry into the matter is already underway," the chief adviser said while meeting a delegation of Gono Odhikar Parishad at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday (2 September).
