Dhaka, June 22 -- Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Akther Hossain was awarded the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences-National Professor Dr. M. Innas Ali Memorial Gold Medal-2024 for his significant contributions to research and education in physical sciences. Dr. Hossain, a distinguished professor in the Department of Physics at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), obtained his PhD degree from Imperial College, London in 1998. His research focuses on superconductors, nanostructured ferrites, ferroelectrics, multiferroics, diluted magnetic semiconductors, optoelectronic materials, and nanocrystalline alloys.
