A newly constructed bridge over the Gangaram River in Rupar Khamar area of Dharanibari Union, Ulipur Upazila, Kurigram, has collapsed, leaving locals from Dharanibari and nearby Durgapur Union struggling with transportation.

The 34-meter bridge, built at a cost of BDT 19,96,920 from Minabazar to Majbila road near Mohammad Ali Master's house, was damaged after recent dredging of the Gangaram River.

Soil from the wing walls at the ends of the bridge shifted, creating deep holes. Water began flowing under the bridge, washing away the connecting road, and eventually, the entire bridge structure gave way.
