Dhaka, Sept. 3 -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday issued a tough message for the Awami League, urging his party leaders and activists to strike back if they come under attack.
"Stay alert. If an Awami League member dares to raise a hand against you, break that hand," Fakhrul told BNP members while launching a canal-cleaning programme in Dhaka's Uttara, organised by the party's Dhaka North unit.
The event was arranged as a substitute for the earlier announced rally commemorating the BNP's 47th founding anniversary.
