Dhaka, Feb. 18 -- Last night, defending champions Brazil did their part by defeating Chile 3-0 in the U-20 South American Championship. To snatch the title from them, Argentina needed a big win against Paraguay this morning.
However, not only did Argentina fail to secure a big victory, but they also couldn't win at all.
Before the final round of matches-Brazil facing Chile and Argentina against Paraguay-both teams were level on 10 points, with Brazil ahead on goal difference (Brazil +4, Argentina +3).
Brazil's 3-0 win meant Argentina needed at least a 5-0 victory to claim the title, a nearly impossible feat. Argentina couldn't achieve that or even secure a win. At the end of the final round, Brazil emerged as champions.
