Dhaka, May 27 -- Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Tuesday reassured the nation that Bangladesh's borders remain fully secure, despite recent concerns over alleged push-ins by India's Border Security Force (BSF).

"Our borders are completely safe, and there is no reason for alarm," he told reporters following the passing-out parade of the 14th batch of Deputy Jail Superintendents and the 62nd batch of male and female prison guards at the Rajshahi Prison Training Centre.

Responding to reports of BSF pushing individuals into Bangladesh, the adviser said Indian authorities have been urged to follow proper procedures when dealing with individuals identified as Bangladeshi nationals.
