Dhaka, Nov. 5 -- Clashes, chases, and violence erupt among BNP leaders and activists across the country over nomination disputes ahead of the upcoming national election.

In Meherpur-2 (Gangni) constituency, at least 12 people were injured in a clash between two factions after district BNP President Jabed Masud Milton was denied the party nomination.The incident took place around 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Gangni Bazar.

On Monday, the BNP announced Amzad Hossain as its party candidate for the constituency. Following the announcement, supporters of district BNP President Jabed Masud Milton, angered by the decision, blocked the road and staged a protest by burning tires.
