Dhaka, Nov. 11 -- In the interest of protecting Bangladesh's sovereignty and democracy, an acceptable and universally acceptable election is the demand of the hour, said Azizul Bari Helal, the BNP nominated candidate for Khulna-4 constituency and the information secretary of the party's central executive committee.
He said, "Despite differences among political parties, everyone must reach a consensus on the issue of elections.
We want a neutral role for the administration. People across the country, including those in Khulna-4 constituency, expect a fair, violence-free election.
It is the responsibility of the administration to maintain law and order not only during elections, but at all times."
