Dhaka, Dec. 20 -- A BNP leader, Biru Mollah, was shot dead in Ishwardi over a dispute related to soil cutting for a brick kiln. The incident took place on Wednesday in a village under Laxmikunda Union.Rajib, son of the deceased Biru Mollah and an eyewitness, said that on Tuesday night Jahurul Mollah and his son Al Amin Mollah forcibly cut soil from Biru Mollah's land for use in a brick kiln. When Biru Mollah went to ask Jahurul Mollah about the matter around 9:30 am on Wednesday, Jahurul became enraged. At one stage, Jahurul Mollah and his son Al Amin Mollah shot Biru Mollah in the head with an illegal firearm.After being shot, Biru Mollah collapsed on the ground.
