Dhaka, July 11 -- As the water level in Hakaluki Haor, the largest haor in Asia, has started to recede, illegal fishermen have become reckless. They are illegally killing juvenile fish with various types of prohibited nets including gillnets, current nets and other illegal nets in various beels of the haor.Due to this, the fish resources, aquatic plants and biodiversity of Hakaluki Haor are under extreme threat.
