Dhaka, Oct. 9 -- A special operation conducted by the Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) led to the seizure of 237 Indian cows and 42 buffaloes, marking the largest cattle seizure in the history of the 48 BGB. The estimated value of the seized animals is approximately Tk 3 crore.
On Tuesday based on overnight secret information, an anti-smuggling operation was carried out at Gowainghat Upazila in Sylhet and the Lafarge border in Sunamganj. The operation at the Gowainghat border was led by Major Nurul Huda, Deputy Commander of Sylhet Battalion 48 BGB, along with Gowainghat Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Omar Faruk.
