Dhaka, Feb. 26 -- The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) observed National Martyred Army Day with due dignity and solemn tributes to the victims of the 2009 Pilkhana massacre, where 57 army officers and several others lost their lives in the brutal attack at the then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) headquarters.

As part of the observance, special Quran recitations (Khatm-e-Quran) were held from Fajr prayer until Zuhr at all BGB mosques, including those in its headquarters in Pilkhana, as well as its regional, sector, and unit offices across the country.

The BGB regimental flag was lowered to half-mast, and all members of the force wore black badges as a mark of respect for the fallen officers.
