Dhaka, Aug. 15 -- The Bangladesh U-17 women's football team departs for Bhutan today to take part in the seventh edition of four-nation SAFF U-17 Women's Championship with a mission to retain the title.

Apart from host Bhutan, defending champions Bangladesh, India and Nepal will participate in the regional tournament which is scheduled to take place in Thimphu from August 20 to 31. The four nations will play each other twice in the double round robin league format.

Prior to the team's departure, a press conference was held at Bangladesh Football Federation conference room where the head coach and captain of the team expressed their high hope to bring good results from the tournament.
