Dhaka, Dec. 23 -- A second group of 71 Bangladesh Navy personnel from Bangladesh Force Marine Unit-11 departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today, Monday, to join the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). This contingent will replace Bangladesh Force Marine Unit-10 in upholding global peace efforts.
The first group of 99 navy members joined the mission on December 9. Under UN directives, the unit ensures safe passage for barges carrying essential fuel, food, medicines, and humanitarian aid along remote Sudanese waterways.
