Dhaka, Sept. 8 -- Bangladesh National Hockey team lost to Japan National Hockey team by 1-6 goals in the 5th-6th place-deciding match of the Asia Cup Hockey at Rajgir in Bihar of India on Sunday. By virtue of yesterday's defeat, Bangladesh finished sixth. On the other hand, Japan became fifth place in the Asia Cup Hockey. Thus, Japan will play directly in the World Cup Hockey Qualifiers.
But Bangladesh will play a best of three-match against Pakistan. Bangladesh have to win the three-match play-off series against Pakistan, if they want to play in the World Cup Hockey Qualifiers.
