Dhaka, Oct. 2 -- Bangladesh has formally launched e-passport services at its embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, extending digital passport facilities to Bangladeshi expatriates living in the country and nearby regions.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Tuesday, chaired by Bangladesh's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Monirul Islam, said a press release.
Brigadier General Mohammad Nurus Salam, Project Director, attended as chief guest, while Nilima Afroze, Deputy Secretary of the Security Services Division, was present as special guest. In his address, the chief guest highlighted the advantages of the e-passport system and briefed the audience on the progress of the project.
