Dhaka, Sept. 12 -- A Bangladeshi family was assaulted and looted during violent protests in Kathmandu, Nepal, while at least 20 other Bangladeshis stranded in the capital have been rescued by the Bangladesh Embassy.
According to embassy officials, protesters stormed a hotel in Kathmandu on Tuesday, vandalising property and attacking guests.
Among them was a three-member Bangladeshi family who were beaten and robbed during the chaos. They were later evacuated and given shelter at the Bangladesh Embassy.
The same day, demonstrators also attacked the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kathmandu, where the Bangladeshi family had been staying.
