Dhaka, Sept. 1 -- A court here today placed the organizing secretary of the banned student organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Siam Rahman on one-day remand in a case lodged over attempt to murder ofChhatra Dal leader Ariful Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order as police produced Siam before the court and pleaded to place him on a seven-dayremand.

Police arrested Siam from the capital's Adabor area on December 18, 2024.
