Dhaka, April 12 -- The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has rescued 67 fishermen along with four fishing trawlers that had come under pirate attack near the estuary of the Sakina River in the Bay of Bengal, off the coast of Barguna.

The information was shared on Friday by Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque.

He stated that on April 2, four fishing trawlers MV Tarek, Abdullah Tufan, MV Maa, and Junaid Islam carrying 67 fishermen set out from Patharghata in Barguna for deep-sea fishing.

On the night of April 9, around 11 PM, the trawlers were attacked by sea pirates near the Sakina estuary in the Bay of Bengal under the jurisdiction of Taltali Upazila in Barguna.
