Dhaka, April 26 -- The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to suspend the remaining one-match ban of Mohammedan Sporting Club Captain Towhid Hridoy for a year, following strong intervention from senior players including Tamim Iqbal.

Earlier, Hridoy was handed a two-match suspension in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket for misconduct towards an umpire.

That punishment was later reduced to one match after internal bylaw changes. However, the decision drew significant backlash, prompting the DPL's technical committee to reinstate the original two-match ban. One of those matches has already been served.
