Dhaka, Oct. 18 -- Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin this evening visited the site of the fire that broke out at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka, assuring that all-out efforts are underway to resume flight operations as soon as possible.
"We will reopen the airport at the earliest," the adviser told reporters after visiting the scene. "As you know, flight operations are currently suspended. We are working to restore services by tonight if possible," he added.
Bashir said the fire had largely been brought under control due to coordinated efforts by the Fire Service, armed forces and other agencies, and that authorities were now concentrating on restoring normal operations. "...
