Dhaka, Dec. 11 -- Speakers at a discussion and Doa Mahfil have remembered Barrister Mainul Hosein saying that he spent his entire life fighting for democracy and never backed down, no matter how difficult or challenging the circumstances.

They made the remarks at the discussion held in Dhaka on the occasion of his second death anniversary, organised by the Bangladesh Association of Journalists for Human Rights (BAJHR) under the theme "Bangladesh, Human Rights and the Role of Barrister Mainul Hosein."

Speakers recalled that during the tenure of the ousted Awami League government, he was allegedly subjected to physical and mental harassment while in detention.
