Dhaka, July 28 -- Water levels in different major rivers and connected branches in southern Barishal division are flowing above the danger level.
Due to the low pressure prevailing in the West Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas, the water levels of those rivers mainly of coastal division have increased.
Due to this, many areas in the lower-lying and river-banks related areas of the division have been submerged. It rained intermittently almost all day, flooding the low-lying areas to a height of 1 to 3 feet of Barishal divisional city.
The forecast says that the rain may continue for the next two days. The Water Development Board and the Meteorological Office confirmed this information on Saturday (July 26).
