Dhaka, March 23 -- A school teacher named Md. Golam Rabbani (50) has been sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment and 15 days rigorous imprisonment for non-payment of a fine of three thousand taka for assault in Natore's Baraigram upazila. Golam Rabbani is the son of Pir Mahmud of Choumuhan village in the upazila and the head teacher of Choumuhan Abdul Quddus Government Primary School.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Roshan Ali, after hearing both sides, declared Gholam Rabbani guilty and sentenced him to jail and acquitted the other two accused in the case, Sajal (20) and Rabiul (40) of the same village.
