Dhaka, Sept. 16 -- Banyan trees are a blessing of nature, sometimes providing shade, sometimes creating intense illusion.
However, when that banyan tree becomes a death trap, panic spreads in the minds of people.
One such banyan tree is now as dangerous as the demon of Yama to the people of Bajitpur intersection in Tangail Sadar Upazila.
A huge old banyan tree located next to the Tangail-Deldua regional highway has fallen on a busy market. Locals fear that it could collapse at any time, causing major loss of life.
Heavy traffic has already been stopped. Several shops in the market have been damaged.
