Four thousand meters of banned fishing nets worth one lakh twenty thousand taka were recovered and burned and destroyed in a drive by a mobile court in Baraigramupazila of Natore.
After recovering the nets in a drive at Bonpara Municipality Hat on Tuesday, they were taken to the UpazilaParishad premises and burned.
Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Murad Hossain said that after sensing the presence of the mobile court, the sellers quickly left behind about four thousand meters of nets and disappeared.
