Dhaka, March 2 -- Bangladesh saw a significant inflow of remittances in last February, with expatriates sending home $2.5 billion.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) released the latest remittance data on Sunday.

According to central bank data, Bangladesh recorded its highest-ever monthly remittance inflow of $2.64 billion in December last year.

February's remittance figures marked a historic high as the amount is highest for any February in the country's history.

This represents a 25 per cent increase over last year's February remittance.
