Dhaka, Nov. 15 -- Bangladesh Police officers have started wearing newly designed uniforms, introducing a stark, iron-toned look for personnel in metropolitan areas and specialized units.

From Saturday, staff serving in all metropolitan police units and specialized branches-including the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)-began officially donning the new attire. District police units, however, have not yet received the updated uniforms.

Police officials said distribution outside metropolitan areas will occur in phases, with all units across the country expected to transition to the new design in due course.
