Dhaka, Sept. 11 -- The Bangladesh national football team, stranded in Nepal amid anti-government protests, finally returned home on Thursday afternoon, September 11.
A special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight brought them back, touching down at Kurmitola Air Base in Dhaka around 4:45 pm.
The team had traveled to Nepal to play two friendly matches. They played the first game on September 6, but the second match, scheduled for September 9, was cancelled due to the political unrest in the neighboring country.
In the midst of the deadly protests, the Bangladesh players endured three days of uncertainty before their return.
